Kurdistan Foundation Reopens Qandil School Following renovation completion

Qandil School in Takia, Chamchamal district, officially reopened its doors on February 17, 2026, following extensive renovations after the recent devastating floods. The reopening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government, the Governor of Sulaymaniyah, local officials in Chamchamal, as well as the school’s teaching staff and students, marking a significant milestone in restoring education, stability, and hope for the local community.

The renovation included full structural repairs as well as the provision of essential educational supplies and stationery, ensuring that students could return to a safe and fully equipped learning environment.
