With the attendance of nearly 5,000 supporters, the final match of the largest football tournament for local teams in Erbil concluded under the supervision and organization of the Kurdistan Foundation, marking a major milestone for community sports and youth engagement in the city.
The championship, which spanned one full month, brought together 128 local teams from across Erbil, with a total of 1,961 players competing in a tournament that celebrated teamwork, talent, and sportsmanship at the grassroots level.
The final match featured a highly anticipated face-off between Azmar and Ramiar, two teams that demonstrated exceptional skill and determination throughout the competition. Following an intense and high-level performance from both sides, Azmar secured victory, claiming the championship cup and first place.
The tournament was held in cooperation with the Democratic Students and Youth Union under the Ministry of Education and Youth, reflecting a shared commitment to promoting youth development through sport. The event was generously sponsored by Talabat Iraq and Karwanchi Group, whose support contributed to the successful organization and wide reach of the championship.
Beyond competition, the championship served as a platform for community connection, youth empowerment, and positive engagement, reinforcing the role of sports in fostering unity and healthy lifestyles among young people.
