Kurdistan Foundation Launches Public Library at General Traffic Directorate in Erbil

In a move to integrate reading into daily life, the Kurdistan Foundation has established a public library at the General Directorate of Traffic in Erbil, offering citizens the opportunity to read while waiting for official transactions.

The initiative was officially inaugurated with a ceremony that highlighted the contributions of multiple partners. The Erbil Public Library provided a significant collection of books for the library, supporting the initiative’s goal of fostering a reading culture.

During the launch ceremony, Dr. Mumtaz Haidary, a renowned Kurdish author and historian, presented certificates of appreciation to three young Kurdish writers, recognizing their contributions to literature in the region. The Kurdistan Foundation praised Dr. Haidary’s lifelong role in enriching Kurdish literature, as well as the emerging authors’ efforts in promoting literature and culture in Kurdistan.

By transforming administrative waiting times into opportunities for reading and learning, this strategic initiative aims to broaden horizons, enhance knowledge, and promote culture within the community. It reflects the Kurdistan Foundation’s commitment to making literature accessible to all and supporting the development of both established and emerging literary talent.

Through initiatives like this, the Foundation continues to foster educational and cultural growth, demonstrating that even small interventions in daily life can have a meaningful impact on personal development and societal enrichment.
